A few words on how I see photography
As a minimalist, I think it important to focus on the essential without letting tricks of style spoil the imagination. Being a slave to a style is not very interesting, but to continually recreate one is a great challenge. My chosen way is to transfigure reality without having to deform it.
Photography does not become art through the use of a malleable system, but through certain privileged frames of mind. To pass from poetry to photography is to change the means without changing the essence. To create an image is first of all to empty ones mind so as to be completely open and receptive.
Why photograph anything? In my case, there are four reasons:
- To capture reality
- To metamorphose it
- To learn to accept it
- To become aware of the spiritual essence in oneself
