GoldenPass Panoramic

The MOB's panoramic trains link Montreux (canton of Vaud) to Gstaad and Lenk (canton of Berne). The famous line, opened in 1901, crosses the scenery of the Intyamon valley.
The line of the MOB (Montreux - Bernese Oberland), crosses the Pays d'Enhaut, the Saanenland and the Simmental. As well as the usual services, the MOB runs ultra-modern panoramic (Golden Pass Panoramic) and Belle Epoque trains.

In as early as 1875, the development of tourism in the Haut-Léman and Bernese Oberland brought to light the need to establish communication between the two regions. The first section of the line between Montreux and Zweisimmen was opened in 1901 and electrified from the start. The history of the line was marked by the very brief operation of the Golden Mountain Pullmann Express, a luxury train that ran from 1931 to 1932. Two carriages have been renovated and currently run along the line. The first panoramic train took to the rails in 1976.
